What does PEDIEN do?
PEDIEN turns press releases from Korean cities, agencies and companies into ready-to-publish stories and supplies them to online newsrooms. It also runs PEDIEN News, PULSE (English-language U.S. public-sector news), the PEDIEN Wire news API and an AI video studio.
How many newsrooms has PEDIEN supplied?
More than 225 newsrooms, counting from our customer records since 2018. PEDIEN News itself publishes about 1,200 stories a day.
What is PEDIEN Wire?
A pay-per-story news API in the IPTC ninjs 2.1 format. Publishers list stories for free and use one credit per full story; taking the same story again is free. U.S. public-sector news is available now, and Korean regional news in English is in preparation.
Does PEDIEN build its own AI?
Yes. PEDIEN runs an in-house news model, an open-weight 7-billion-parameter model fine-tuned on its editors’ corrections, on its own servers, together with more than 280 region-specific parsers for Korean press releases.
Where is PEDIEN based?
PEDIEN Inc. was founded in Seoul in March 2016 and has a U.S. subsidiary in Irvine, California, founded in 2018.
